Specialisations or tracks
RESEARCH ORIENTATION
- Specialisation in Environmental Chemistry
- Specialisation in Synthetic Chemistry
- Specialisation in Biological Chemistry
- Specialisation in Nanomaterials and New Materials
- Specialisation in Advanced Analytical Techniques
VOCATIONAL ORIENTATION
- Specialisation in Industrial Chemistry
Students must successfully complete the modules in the Core Module (15 credits), 21 credits of optional modules and a Master’s thesis worth 24 credits.
In the Research Track, students must take the practical module ‘Introduction to Research’ (6 ECTS) and a further 15 ECTS chosen freely from the following modules: Environmental Chemistry; Synthetic Chemistry; Biological Chemistry; Nanochemistry and New Materials; and Advanced Analytical Techniques. To obtain a specialisation within this track, students must take at least 9 ECTS credits from the chosen specialisation module (the remaining 6 ECTS credits may be chosen from this or the other modules); if this requirement is not met, they will be awarded the degree in the Research Track without a specialisation: in this case, students must also take the compulsory module ‘Introduction to Research’.
In the Vocational Stream, students must take the compulsory module Project Management (3 ECTS) and a further 18 ECTS of optional modules from the Chemistry and Industrial Economics module.
If a student wishes to study more than one specialism, they would not need to retake the core module or the Master’s thesis.
